Jean Lau Chin, EdD, ABPP
Founder and Principal

Jean Lau Chin, EdD, ABPP is currently Professor at Adelphi University and Visiting Professor as Fulbright Distinguished Chair to the University of Sydney, Australia.  She is distinguished as an educator, administrator, clinician and scholar who has held senior management positions as: Dean at Alliant International University and Adelphi University, Regional Director at Massachusetts Behavioral Health Plan, Director of South Cove Community Health Center and Co-Director of Thom Mental Health Clinic. 

She has trained mental health and health care professionals, and developed culturally competent services for diverse populations.  Her scholarship and research on leadership, diversity and women’s issues have been extensive, including 18 books, numerous publications and presentations for which she has received many awards.  All of this is cited in her full CV.

As past President of the Divisions of International Psychology, Psychology of Women, and Culture, Race, and Ethnicity of the American Psychological Association, her presidential initiatives were on diverse and global leadership.  She has served in many leadership positions at the national, state and local levels promoting coalition building and advocacy to impact national policy on health and mental health related to access, cultural competence, women’s issues and health disparities for underserved communities. 

She was the first Asian American to be licensed as a psychologist in Massachusetts. She has received many awards for her leadership and her work on women and diversity including two presidential citations and recognized as an Elder at the National Multicultural Conference and Summit.
